Dorrie is a highly versed and dedicated Lead Mechanical Design Engineer with 15 years of experience in the construction of well over 500 projects.  She is a licensed Professional Engineer in 34 states, concentrating in Mechanical Engineering with training and experience in Plumbing and Electrical Design.  Dorrie is skilled in all aspects of the design process including client interaction, value engineering, on-site coordination and construction administration.  She has extensive field experience conducting site visits surveys, due diligence reports and construction trouble-shooting.  Designs entail ground-up renovations, additions and take-overs in both the private and public sectors.  With over 20 years CAD Drafting experience, Dorrie is also proficient at performing in-depth load calculations to determine the optimal HVAC design.

Before joining EDG, Dorrie worked for two high profile engineering firms, gaining experience in a wide variety of projects and a broad selection of industry contacts, which she enjoys maintaining to ensure positive results with every project.

Highlights of Project Experience:

Edgewood Municipal Building – Edgewater, NJ:  New construction of a two story municipal building totaling 24,000-square feet.  Building usage varied extensively and called for a variety of HVAC systems to be utilized in order to achieve comfort levels throughout, while also sticking to a tight budget.  Rooms included: Mayor’s offices, police headquarters, cell rooms, building department offices, court offices,  lockers, exercise room, garage, IT room and storage spaces.  Site meetings prior and during construction were beneficial to the coordination of all trades.

Monmouth University – West Long Branch, NJ:  Worked on a variety of buildings on campus – including minor/major renovations as well as new construction.  Largest project was a 5 story art gallery that also included classrooms, lecture spaces, and offices, along with fluid gallery spaces.  Additional work on campus includes a new Nursing School training building, indoor bowling alley and the main IT building for the entire campus.

Broad Street Plaza – Matawan, NJ:  New construction of a five story mixed use building with retail on the first floor and 131 apartments spread over the remaining 4 floors above.  Project included tying together multiple building penetrations with construction fire ratings, coordinating a wide variety of apartment layouts as well as landlord/common areas.
